Enlisted in company B., Twenty-sixth Infantry as Corporal, Aug. 6, 1862, at Putnam, for 3 years, age 23. Mustered Sept. 15, 1862. Discharged for disability at Albany, N.Y., Oct. 27, 1863. Buried at Williamston, Mich. Brooks, Alvah O. Enlisted in company B, Twenty-sixth Infantry, as drummer, Sept. 22, 1862, at Jackson, for 3 years, age 14. Mustered Sept. 22, 1862. Discharged at Jackson, Mich., by order of Governor Blair, Oct. 16, 1862. Smith, C. Henry, Putnam. Enlisted in company B., Twenty-sixth Infantry, as Sergeant, Aug. 6, 1862, at Putnam, for 3 years, age 23. Mustered Sept. 15, 1862. Died May 27, 1864, at Washington, D.C., of wounds received in action near Spottsylvania, Va., May 14, 1864.
